A  Few Steps towards a Successful Learning Process

Kako da razvijete Vaš kreativni um

As I mentioned in my previous text on learning languages, it is not an easy objective, but it is not

unattainable as well. The learning process is demanding and time-consuming.

However, the ultimate outcome might be very sweet and lucrative if you succeed in being

persistent and do not give up on the first obstacle you run across.

Therefore, prior to starting to learn a foreign language, it is important to make an analysis of

needs. This analysis will be a part of your PDR (personal development review), which you will

reevaluate on a regular basis to monitor your personal development.

Furthermore, the analysis will help you become aware of your needs, interests, current skills and so on. It will also enable you to define time-frame within which you will try to gain and develop some particular language skills.
Please note that it is very important to be realistic and fully aware of your current abilities while setting a deadline and a goal. If you fail to achieve the goal on time, it will result in frustration and stress and, consequently, you will start coming up with different excuses for not learning anymore and everything you have done up to a certain moment will be in vain.

To sum up, first you should become aware of your needs and requirements, (the analysis of needs is helpful at this stage). This analysis will also help your teacher to choose literature and classroom material for you, as well as to decide on methodology.

I prefer using hands-out from different resources to following one or two books. Creativity increases motivation, and highly motivated learners deliver much better results than those who learn because they have to, not want to.

The last step before you start attending the language course is to oblige yourself to attaining the objective you have set during the period you have chosen on your own and to enjoy the fruits of your commitment. You can regard this as if you had just closed a deal with yourself. The more you participate in the preparation process, the harder it will be to blame anyone else but yourself for a potential failure. Everything is in your hands, please keep this in mind!

Have a nice embarking on new learning experience and good luck!

Thank you for your time and attention!
